Why It Works
A word-for-word script separates "what to say" from "how to say it." Writing handles content. Recording handles delivery. Without a script, your brain juggles both simultaneously — cognitive load doubles, and choking is the normal outcome.
Three Rules for Teleprompter Scripts
1. Short sentences: Under 25 words. Break long thoughts into two or three. Rhythm builds itself. 2. Write like you talk: How would you describe this to a friend over coffee? Write that. Not "this product delivers exceptional performance metrics" — "this thing is fast." 3. Leave breathing room: Three to four sentences per paragraph, then a blank line. That blank line becomes a natural pause — breathe, reset, look at the lens.
What Numbers Don't Capture
There's a benefit data can't measure: the psychological shift. Without a teleprompter, by take four or five frustration sets in. Your voice tightens. The best takes are usually the early ones. With a teleprompter, every take stays consistent — and you get more relaxed as you go. When forgetting lines isn't a threat, your attention shifts to tone and pacing.
