Unexpected Side Effect: Better Improvisation
This sounds contradictory — reading from a script makes you more spontaneous? Here's the logic: when you're not terrified of losing your place, the script stops being a cage and becomes a safety net. Mid-paragraph, you think of a better example — you just say it. Go off-script for ten seconds. When you're done, the words are still there waiting. Pick up where you left off.
Without a teleprompter, improvising is dangerous — one unplanned detour and you lose the entire route. With a teleprompter, improv becomes a feature, not a risk.
