1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the InstruKit app (hereinafter “the App” or “the Service”) or its website, you indicate that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms.
If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not continue to use the Service. You may terminate your use at any time by deleting the App from your device.
2. Operator Information
The following information should remain consistent with the App Store, the website footer, and customer support channels:

If the operator name, address, support email, or brand statements change, this document, the website legal pages, and the in-app entries should be updated accordingly.
3. Service Description
InstruKit is a reality measurement and diagnostics toolkit designed for informed consumers and prosumers. Core features include, but are not limited to:
- Level: surface / edge / plumb angle measurement with zero-reference support;
- Sound Level: real-time relative digital sound level (dB) readings, spectrum, and recording summaries;
- Vibration: acceleration RMS / peak measurement and recording summaries;
- Light Estimate: illuminance estimation based on camera exposure parameters (experimental);
- Magnetic Field / Fastener Anomaly: magnetic field strength readings and relative magnetic anomaly detection;
- Location & Heading: single-point measurement of coordinates, altitude, and heading;
- Magnifier / Text Recognition / Code Scanning: camera viewfinder, on-screen text recognition, and code reading;
- Optical RPM (experimental): rotational speed estimation based on camera frame-rate observation;
- Flashlight / Screen Light: lighting utilities;
- Device Info / Network Status / Bluetooth Nearby: reading of on-device and local-network public information;
- Measurement records, project archiving, comparison analysis, PDF / CSV export, measurement card sharing (some features require a subscription; see Section 4).
3.1 Nature of Measurement Results (Important)
You understand and agree that:
- The App provides estimated or relative reference results based on publicly available iPhone hardware capabilities and sensors. It is not a calibrated professional measuring instrument;
- Results labeled “Estimated”, “Experimental”, or “Relative” in the App (such as light estimation, optical RPM, relative sound level, and fastener magnetic anomaly) do not constitute any guarantee of measurement precision. “High confidence” is only a qualitative judgment of reading stability, not a promise of numerical accuracy;
- Fastener detection only provides a relative reference for magnetic anomaly / possible presence of metal. It must not be used for in-wall wire detection, life detection, distance measurement, or any safety-critical decision-making;
- The App should not be used for medical purposes, safety protection, legal metrology, engineering acceptance, or any personal/property-related scenarios that rely on precise measurement. You are solely responsible for any consequences arising from using measurement results in such scenarios.
We may adjust, add, optimize, or suspend service content based on product iteration, legal requirements, or platform policies.
4. Accounts, Purchases, and Subscriptions
4.1 Accounts
The Service does not require account registration. Your measurement data is stored locally on your device, and we do not maintain a user account system.
4.2 Subscriptions and One-Time Purchase
The Service offers “InstruKit Pro” subscriptions and a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store, which may include:
- Monthly subscription: auto-renews monthly;
- Annual subscription: auto-renews annually, possibly with a 7-day free trial for first-time subscribers;
- Lifetime purchase: one-time payment permanently unlocking the benefits of the current version.
The following rules apply to subscriptions and purchases:
- Purchases, charges, renewals, refunds, and receipts are handled by the Apple App Store system. We cannot directly operate your charges;
- Auto-renewal notice: subscriptions will automatically renew within 24 hours before the end of the current period, at the same price as the original purchase (if prices change, the price displayed by Apple prevails). You may cancel at any time during the subscription period; after cancellation, your benefits remain available until the end of the current subscription period, with no further charges;
- Free trial notice: if a free trial is offered, Apple will clearly inform you before the trial starts. Please cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends via Apple's subscription management, otherwise the trial will automatically convert into a paid subscription and you will be charged;
- To cancel or manage subscriptions, go to iPhone “Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions” (or the App Store account page);
- After switching devices or reinstalling the App, you can use “Restore Purchases” to revalidate your benefits without paying again;
- If a refund occurs, whether the corresponding benefits are retained is subject to Apple's handling results and applicable law;
- Pro benefits (such as saving measurement records, exporting PDF/CSV, sharing measurement cards, and saving projects and comparisons) are subject to the actual display of the in-app paywall matrix; features that are not implemented will never be sold as benefits.
4.3 Free Tier Boundary
The free tier allows real-time use of all measurement tools and viewing of readings, but does not allow saving measurement records, projects, or comparison results, nor the use of export and share-image-card features. Specific boundaries are subject to the actual display in the App.
5. User Content
Measurement records, notes, tags, project names, capture artifacts (photos, recognized text, code payloads), and other content that you save, edit, or export through the Service belong, in principle, to you.
You warrant that:
- Your use of the Service and handling of such content complies with applicable laws and regulations;
- Content you capture, recognize, or record does not infringe upon the legitimate rights of others and does not violate laws, regulations, or public order.
If a dispute arises from your content or use, you shall bear the corresponding responsibility.
6. Intellectual Property, Trademarks, and Brand Statements
“InstruKit” is the brand name and source identifier of the Service and may be a trademark or trademark application that we are using, have pending, or have registered.
The following are protected by copyright law, trademark law, and related laws:
- App name, logo, icon, launch screen, UI design, and visual system;
- Website page structure, copy, layout, illustrations, and presentation materials;
- Algorithm implementations, processing logic, and code within the App;
- Product descriptions, methodology pages, update logs, and brand copy.
Without our prior written permission, no one may copy, modify, distribute, or commercially use the above materials; use confusingly similar names, logos, or visual elements in competing products; or impersonate official channels of the Service.
Unless otherwise stated, third-party names and marks such as Apple, iPhone, and the App Store belong to their respective owners.
7. Use Restrictions
You agree that you will not, in any way:
- Violate applicable laws or App Store platform rules;
- Attempt to crack or tamper with subscription validation or bypass feature gating (except as permitted by law);
- Conduct automated abuse of, interference with, or attacks against the App;
- Impersonate others or engage in fraud;
- Use the App in safety-critical or professional metrology scenarios prohibited by Section 3.1, or make false claims based on it.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service depends on or links to the following third-party services:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit: app distribution, purchases, subscriptions, and restoring purchases;
- Apple system capabilities: camera, microphone, location, Bluetooth, local network, motion sensors, flashlight, and other hardware capabilities;
- iCloud (coming soon): if you enable cloud sync in the future, data will be stored via your own Apple iCloud account, subject to Apple's terms of service and privacy policy;
- Website hosting and browsers: network capabilities when visiting instrukit.app.
The rules, availability, and privacy practices of third-party services are the responsibility of those third parties. We do not assume responsibility beyond legal requirements for their independent actions.
9. Privacy and Data Processing
Our rules for processing personal information are set out separately in the Privacy Policy. If these Terms conflict with the Privacy Policy, the Privacy Policy and applicable law prevail.
The Service adopts a local-first model: your measurement data is saved locally on your device by default. We do not collect or upload your measurement content, and it is never used for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.
10. Service Availability
We strive to keep the Service stable and available, but we do not guarantee that:
- All sensor capabilities behave identically or are available on all device models and in all environments;
- Measurement results remain reliable under extreme temperatures, electromagnetic interference, camera obstruction, and similar conditions;
- The Service is always fault-free and uninterrupted.
Some tools depend on specific hardware (such as the camera, magnetometer, or location). On devices without the corresponding hardware, they will be clearly presented as “unsupported” rather than providing fabricated readings.
11. Suspension, Termination, and Service Adjustments
We may, to the extent permitted by law, suspend, restrict, or terminate part of the Service in the following circumstances:
- You violate these Terms or applicable laws;
- The Service requires security maintenance, upgrades, or repairs;
- Third-party platforms or compliance requirements change.
If the scope of the Service changes materially, we will try to give advance notice via release notes or website announcements.
12. Disclaimer
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for losses caused by hardware differences, sensor limitations, user misuse or misreading, or force majeure;
- We do not guarantee that measurement results meet any specific industrial, engineering, or statutory accuracy standards;
- We are not liable for your judgments or decisions made based on measurement results;
- We are not liable beyond legal requirements for functional changes caused by third-party platforms, system updates, or policy changes.
Under no circumstances should the readings of this App be used as the sole basis for decisions involving personal safety (for example: electrical wire detection, gas detection, or work-at-height safety assessments).
13. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by law, in the event of a liability dispute arising from the Service, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you actually paid for the Service in the 12 months preceding the dispute (for free users, the minimum extent permitted by law).
These Terms do not exclude liabilities that may not be excluded or limited under applicable law.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect feature changes, legal or regulatory changes, platform policy changes, or brand adjustments. After an update, we will publish the new version on the website or in the App and update the document version and effective date. Continued use indicates your acceptance of the updated Terms; if you do not accept them, please stop using and delete the App.
15. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
Except as otherwise mandated by compulsory law, these Terms are governed by the laws of the People's Republic of China.
If mandatory consumer protection or data protection provisions apply in your place of residence, those mandatory provisions prevail.
In the event of a dispute, we recommend first seeking an amicable resolution through the contact channels in Section 16; if negotiation fails, the dispute may be submitted to a court or arbitration institution with jurisdiction in accordance with applicable law.
